This Privacy Policy explains how CookNShare ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We are committed to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The data controller is Antoine, an individual established in France. For any privacy request, contact us at contact@cooknshare.org.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what we need to run the App:

• Account data: your name or nickname, email address, and profile photo (if you add one).
• Preferences: dietary preferences, language, and display settings.
• Content you create: recipes, comments, ratings, meal plans, shopping lists, and group memberships.
• Sign-in data: when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from that provider.
• Technical data: a notification token (if you enable notifications) so we can send you app notifications.

We do not collect payment data, and we do not track you for advertising.

3. Why we use your data and on what legal basis

• To provide your account and the App's core features — performance of a contract.
• To send notifications you enable and our optional newsletter — your consent (which you can withdraw at any time).
• To keep the App secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest.
• To comply with legal obligations where applicable — legal obligation.

4. Who processes your data

We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors"):

• Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting, with data stored on servers located in the European Union.
• Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them, to authenticate you.
• Expo push notifications — to deliver notifications you have enabled.

We never sell your personal data.

5. Where your data is stored

Your data is hosted on servers within the European Union. If any transfer outside the EU ever becomes necessary, we will use appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our systems, except where we must keep limited information to meet a legal obligation.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can:

• Export your data directly from the "Personal data" screen in the App.
• Delete your account and data from the same screen.
• Contact us at contact@cooknshare.org for any other request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

8. Children

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes within the App and update the date above.
